The Dune Life Nature in White Sands, the OSHA , ( 2.7 mile) the Pine ( 3.3) & the Mexican Trestle (2.2) while here. Up the mountains, around the mountains and back down the mountains. We love it!!❤️
Grabbing the pups and bringing them limited our activities. Rules of the cabin stated we could not leave them in the cabin unattended. That meant we went where they were allowed. The White Sands National Park enabled us to mark another National Park off our list. They are one of the very few that let pups on the trails. May never get all the fine sand out of my shoes.
I know these are not long hikes, they were perfect for two old people and 2 sissy poodles (one who is 14 yrs. Old & rode in the back pack some. ) We kinda used the Pine & Mexican Trestle for exercise and went a little too fast but the last day we took the OSHA at a leisure pace. We saw more wildlife and were able to soak the nice temperatures and cool breeze. A Hummingbird flew right up to me twice.
This has been a nice cool( literally) trip. Gregg , Agate , Cameo and I enjoyed it so much. I end with ALWAYS a thankful heart and praise in my soul to God who allows such blessings to explore the places that inspire and sustain us.

I know you’ve probably heard me say a Wood Thrush is my favorite bird. It’s an ordinary brown bird until it starts to sing and then comes the most beautiful flute like melody. We have them in the woods at our home so as we are walking I can’t believe it but it’s a bird with a tune very much like my Wood Trush. I pulled up my Merlin App and it’s called a Hermit Thrush! It’s half the size but it doesn’t affect its song. Turn up the volume and it may become your favorite too!
