Chugwater and Buffalo

The name “Chugwater” originates from a Lakota term describing the sound of buffalo and horses splashing and “chugging” through the muddy waters of Chugwater Creek. The sound was a mix of grunts, snorts, and splashing, and the area became known as the place where the buffalo made this sound in the water.

The food and atmosphere was a 10!!!

The oldest working soda fountain in Wyoming.
It was an old drugstore fountain shop and is still filled with memorabilia.
Famous Chugwater Chili 🌶️ buffalo nachos.
Fountain branded burger with thin Julienne seasoned fries. Left out with homemade malts and floats.
It was 86° for most of the day til we got to Owen’s RV Park in Buffalo, WY. It’s gone down to 62° and no humidity so we are all sissy’s in jackets and blankets.
