Lots of tent dwellers on the side of the road but once we got out of city the roadways were pristine.

Got my convertible to drive the Pacific Coast Scenic Byway. Riding with the top down was not really an option but the view quickly relieved any disappointment. My first view of the Pacific Ocean was breathtaking.
A little drizzling rain on and off and temperatures in the 40’s kept the top on all day.
First stop Tillamook Creamery

Grilled cheese and ICECREAM’

Lysichiton americanus, also called western skunk cabbage , yellow skunk cabbage is a plant found in swamps and wet woods, along streams and in other wet areas of the Pacific Northwest, Natives reportedly used it as food source during famine. It has a pungent order.
Shocked to see elk , didn’t know they were in Oregon.
Our first of several lighthouses. Cape Meares is short but sitting high on the side of mountain.
Our room had a fireplace and a view from balcony of ocean.
Windy, but we didn’t care.
