Wayne and I surprised Marcia and Gregg with tickets for the College World Series at Christmas this past December. We’ve waited patiently and the time finally arrived. It’s been in the 90’s here in, Omaha, Nebraska, as it has been back home in Louisiana. After straightening out our tickets that arrived wrong, we were ready for the games to begin. I’m not much for baseball so I was here for the food and boy did I partake, with funnel cake, hotdog, popcorn, chicken and tater tots, and ice cream. So while others will just bring back memories , I will bring back a few pounds also.
We drive over to Lincoln, Nebraska , Wednesday at lunch, to get Nebraska’s best hamburger at Abe’s. ( as in Abraham Lincoln) it did not disappoint!
I am now, a baseball fan. I fell for Peyton Stovall, playing first base for Arkansas. He happens to also be from Haughton. They won there first game 14-1, Tues. at 6 against Auburn. We were on section 119, row 13 and seats 3,4,5 and 6. The temperature in 90’s but it got overcast and a breeze came up about an hour after arriving so it was quite pleasant. We bought tickets for Wednesday , at 6 and got almost the same seats just down the row to seats 11,12,13 and 14. We watched Brady Slavens playing for Arkansas hit the longest home run in history at 436 feet. It again was hot the first hour but once the sun went down behind the stadium, it again had a breeze and temperatures were in 80’s so the temperature didn’t hinder us. Arkansas played OleMiss and Arkansas won 3-2 over OleMiss. It was an exciting game. There was chanting, rallying and the wave, all in good fun. Marcia and I got our World Series shirts and the guys bought their caps.

After the first game we got lost in downtown Omaha trying to find the parking garage. It’s funny NOW!😡😂 Wayne went over a few curbs getting us out the next night.
The puppies, Agate and Cameo , made this trip and enjoyed their walks and takeout snacks brought back to them. They both travel well in the vehicle and sleep most of the time. Travel was good except for the trucker that pushed Gregg and I off the road. Praise God we had a shoulder and not down the side of the mountain to move over to. All in all this was another great trip, good friends, weather with cool breezes, health, all many blessings from a loving Father I pray I never take for granted !
