Hwy. 12 Scenic Route ,Devil’s Backbone and Garden, Boulder Burr Trail and Escalante

We took the advice of a fellow camper today and took Hwy. 12. Listening to the Visitors Center is priceless but we’ve gotten some great tips from fellow travelers also. I think, I know how Devil’s Backbone received its name. BEWARE! It was a enticing road with beautiful colored rock formations but looks were deceiving because along both sides of the highway were deep canyons with narrow dangerous shoulders. Once you were on it, turning around was very difficult. There were signs in the turn arounds warning of the sand that with out four-wheel drive was easy to bog down in and get stuck. I thought about how this is like the “ deceiver” , he entices with what seems like something you don’t want to miss, but really after heading down his road, you find danger, alienation, helplessness and get stuck , making it hard to turn back. Oh,but by the grace of God, our Savior, Jesus, is but a prayer away and the destination is GLORY!!!!!

Marcia kept asking “ wonder what made those holes in the rock” Wayne finally answered, “ If you think the holes are something, you should have seen the birds that made them”! 😂
Just got kicked out of the choir. I promise we were goofing around but even these acoustics didn’t help us!
Charolette missing her Sunday School children.
There was nothing indicating there were elk in Utah so , when I started yelling I see elk no one believed me til we turned around and caught this……
