Lake Superior had some marsh areas

Last glimpse of Lake Superior
Another WORLD’s LARGEST, a whaleback was a type of cargo steamship of unusual design, with a hull that continuously curved above the waterline from vertical to horizontal. When fully loaded, only the rounded portion of the hull (the “whaleback” proper) could be seen above the waterline. With sides curved in towards the ends, it had a spoon bow and a very convex upper deck. It was formerly used on the Great Lakes of Canada and the United States, notably for carrying grain or ore. The sole surviving ship of the “whaleback” design is the SS Meteor, which is docked in Superior, Wisconsin as a museum ship.
Wow! What a warranty!
Just one of Veteran’s memorials we’ve seen along the way.
Crossing bridge to Minnesota
Who knew they had catfish way up here?
I believe you could wade across the Mississippi here.
Knuckleheads recommended by lady at last gas station. We go to walk in and Wayne turns us out and says rough looking bikers in there. Hence the name knucklehead. We 4 are the knuckleheads!!🤪
Ate here instead. Hot roast beef on toast, mashed potatoes and gravy with fresh corn cut off cob. Can you read this picture. Yes, they really talk like that. Gregg said he couldn’t understand a word our last campground host said🦻👀👄
They state of 10,000 lakes is true!
Doubted whether we should follow this road. Lasted about 3 miles and for what reason we are not sure. Trying to figure out how to pronounce it was a puzzlement too.
Paul Bunyan

World’s Largest Paul Bunyan

Krotzer told the town of Akeley, MN , that had proclaimed itself the birthplace of Paul in 1949, that he could build a Bunyan worthy of his birthplace, bigger than all the rest. With the help of his six grown sons and a son-in-law, Krotzer spent months working on Paul, using rebar, fiberglass, and 4.5 tons of welded steel. Paul’s suspenders are lumber mill machinery belts; his hair and beard are made of more than a mile of resin-soaked twine.

This looks like it belongs in Tuscany.

Fargo is right on the border of Minnesota and North Dakota
